Over Summer 2008, Trash Mash-Up traveled to Costa Rica, participating in a community art projects. This project is a collaboration between TMU, SF State University andPRETOMA, a Costa Rican sea turtle conservation organization. University students worked with local schools and community members to provide month-long art and ecology projects with the community of Punta Banco. Punta Banco is a very small village of about 250 citizens in the Southern Pacific zone of Costa Rica and home to one of PRETOMA’s sea turtle nesting sites.
