Trash Mash-Up has partnered with the San Diego Art Institute (SDAI) and their Summer Camp Youth Program. SDAI has collaborated with local artists, arts organizations, and educators to provide three weeks of innovative and engaging summer camps in 2016.  SDAI’s mission is to broaden and continue the support of the visual arts through exhibition, education, and outreach. Their ongoing dedication is carried out through a range of innovative programs that respond to the needs of our communities, and by forging partnerships with our local and global community.

TMU Campers will learn about indigenous cultures and conservation by studying how to make ceremonial costumes from our non-recyclable waste materials. The camp will further celebrate diversity and raise environmental awareness by showing off the fruits of their labor in a raucous parade through the center of Balboa Park on Friday, July 22, 2016.
